Man Jumps Into Piranha Filled Lake To Escape Bees

A man fleeing a swarm of bees has died after he jumped into a lake and was attacked by piranhas before drowning.

The incident took place in the municipality of Brasilandia de Minas, which is located in the state of Minas Gerais, in south-eastern Brazil.

The victim, who has not been named but who was reportedly 30 years old, died after being attacked by piranhas in the lake while out on a fishing trip with two friends, according to local media outlet Meia Hora.

The three friends were reportedly attacked by a swarm of bees while fishing on the shore.

A 30-year-old man drowned after jumping into a lake to flee from bees in Brasilandia de Minas, Brazil, on 31st October.

The three fishermen jumped into the lake to escape the insects, with two managing to leave the water unharmed.

This was not the case for the third fishermen, however, who was reportedly attacked by piranhas before drowning to death.

The newspaper says that the fire department responded to the scene, with a firefighter diving to retrieve the victim’s body.

The firefighter surfaced upon noticing that the victim’s face had been torn apart and asked if the body of water contains any carnivorous fish.

He was then told that the lake was full of piranhas.

The firefighters retrieved the victim’s body, with the victim’s face reportedly unrecognisable as a result of the attack from the carnivorous fish.

The authorities contacted experts but given that no obvious crime had been committed, the body was released to the family so that they can bury it. T4/Newsflash
